Preparation

While there is little downtime and preparation required for a Revanesse® treatment, patients should still follow any instructions given by our staff before their procedure. Any individualized preparation instructions will be given to each patient at their consultation.

Patients may be recommended to avoid certain medications or supplements before their procedure to help reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding. Patients may also be recommended to avoid alcohol anywhere between 24-48 hours before their procedure as alcohol can increase the risk of bruising. (2) Patients should also avoid excessive sun exposure or use tanning beds in the days leading up to the treatment. Patients should also avoid harsh products or skin treatments leading up to their treatments such as facials, chemical peels, retinoids, or exfoliants.

Procedure

Before the start of the treatment, a numbing cream may be applied to the treatment site to help maximize the patient’s comfort. The Revanesse® Versa™+ injections contain lidocaine to help further minimize any discomfort during the procedure. After the treatment area is properly prepared, your doctor will target areas of the face, carefully injecting them with filler to help restore the youth to your face. Shallow injections will be used to help target fine lines while deeper injections can help recontour your face and restore volume. The procedure itself is minimally invasive and quick, often lasting 15-30 minutes with essentially no downtime.

Recovery and Results

Immediately following treatment, patients may experience redness or bruising at the treatment site. These effects subside within 24-48 hours after as the filler settles. Patients can return to their daily schedule immediately after their treatment. Patients are recommended to avoid applying pressure to their treatment area and to avoid any intense exercise, extreme temperatures, and alcohol for the following 24 hours.

Patients will be able to notice immediate changes, but the full result will take effect 1-2 weeks after the procedure, once the filler has fully settled.
